Planning a Disney vacation can be challenging and time-consuming. There are so many factors to consider: where to stay, what parks to visit, what attractions to experience, and where to eat. If you are just getting started planning a trip, there are so many sources of information out there to help you. Unfortunately, not all the information you find is helpful. Some blogs are full of information that is scattered and confusing. Many have information that is out of date. Some have information that is just plain wrong.
As someone who has been researching Disney pretty extensively for years, I have been able to sift through the blogs I enjoy, and the ones that are not so helpful.
How do you know where to look for helpful and reliable information? I’m going to share the top 5 Disney blogs for you to follow. By the end of this article, you will know the very best sources to use for all the Disney planning details.
Ready? Let’s dive in!
Disney Tourist Blog
Tom Bricker of Disney Tourist Blog really knows his stuff. He provides very detailed guides and news updates. His posts are very informative, and provide a more detailed analysis of Disney-related topics. If you are new to Disney planning, this blog may be a bit more overwhelming than some of the others suggested here. For those looking for solid and reliable commentary, this one is definitely a good choice.
WDW Prep School
Shannon Albert from WDW Prep School offers great comprehensive Disney planning advice and guides. Her content is easy to understand, and can really help with a step by step approach to planning your Disney trip. She also has in depth information about many topics you will need to understand when you are preparing for your vacation. Genie+ can be an especially tricky concept for newbie planners, and Shannon has a great breakdown that is easy to understand. I also really like the crowd calendar they offer.
Disney Food Blog
This is my go-to source for all my Disney food related information. They offer restaurant information, menus, and reviews to help you find the best food that Disney has to offer. They also have guides available for purchase for Disney Dining, Disney Snacks, holidays, and EPCOT festivals. There are so many amazing restaurants in Disney, and not everyone enjoys the same thing. This blog really gives solid recommendations to help steer you toward choices that will work best for your group.
AllEars.net
One of my favorite places to look for Disney information is AllEars.net. One of the things I love is that they are constantly adding new information, so it’s always up to date. They feature news, reviews, planning tips, etc. for Disney World, Disneyland, and Disney Cruise Line. They pretty much have you covered on all fronts. If you are looking for information on all the available Disney Resorts, they have reviews of those too. I mostly prefer to go to their YouTube channel. Molly’s videos are my favorite. She’s very funny and relatable, so her videos are fun to watch.
TouringPlans.com
This blog is brought to you by the creators of The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. If you are looking for the best strategies for touring the parks and minimizing wait times, this is a great place to start.
In addition to the basic information on their site, they also offer a subscription for a low yearly fee that is a great value in my opinion ($17.95/year currently).
With the subscription you are able to access their crowd calendar, create personalized touring plans, and gain access to their Lines wait times app. The app shows you the wait times posted by Disney and compares them to the “actual” estimated wait times. I have found their information to be pretty accurate, and very helpful in deciding what attractions to head to in real time.
Another helpful feature that is included with your subscription is the Reservation Finder, which helps you find those hard to secure dining reservations.
Conclusion
If you are just getting started on your Disney planning journey, or if you are looking for the experts to help to make your next trip your best one yet, these blogs are a great place to start. You will be sure to get reliable and up to date information with each one of these blogs. These folks are truly the best at what they do.
